Former Nine and SBS execs team up for new B2B consultancy

Two communications and marketing executives with experience across Sony, SBS, Nine, and WeAre8 have joined forces to launch a new consultancy.

Storydisco is a B2B consultancy created by Luke Robinson, most recently global chief marketing officer at social app WeAre8, and Nic Christensen, former head of corporate communications at SBS. The pair previously worked together at Nine, where they headed up commercial marketing and corporate affairs for the network for six years. Christensen is also a former deputy editor of Mumbrella.

It offers end-to-end marketing and communications in the B2B space, and has partnered with a number of creative and activation partners, including event and production provider Picha Group, and creative director Ben Whitty.

Storydisco’s foundational clients include SBS, TrinityP3, Commercial Radio & Audio, and Involved Media, among others, and the business aims to “shape, share, and stage” the stories of their brand clients.

“Late last year, after nearly a decade in in-house comms roles, I stepped into consulting, and over the past nine months it has been fascinating to see and hear what the B2B space really needs,” said Christensen, in a release announcing the new venture. He said that brands “clearly want new and more innovative ways to engage their audiences” in the shifting landscape.

“I am excited by the clients already working with us. They are not just looking for another media release, they want to reframe their role in the industry conversation and show leadership in their space.”

Robinson said in the current climate, “it can be tough for brands to keep their communications and go-to-market narrative and activity fully aligned with their commercial ambitions”.

“StoryDisco takes a step back to see the bigger picture, helping brands show up with the right story, craft compelling brand experiences – whether through content or events – and most importantly, deliver it with consistency through a single brief.”
