Former Nova exec Jay Walkerden launches podcast business with titles including Corona Crazy and Bro Chat

Long-time radio executive Jay Walkerden is taking on the podcast space with a new venture called Podshape.

Walkerden will be ‘head shaper’ at Podshape, which offers up titles including Corona Crazy, Bro Chat and My Dad and Son Are Missing.

Corona Crazy is a short podcast which already boasts 18 episodes. It “talks about those people that are affected, not infected”.

Bro Chat will feature former soldiers, personal trainers, a mindset coach and professional rugby league players as they navigate their way through the “modern world” and the questions it presents to men.

Podshape’s other offering, My Dad and Son Are Missing, delves into the story of Damien Dickie, whose father, Robert, went missing in June, 2016. Nine days later, his son, Dylan, also went missing.

Walkerden said Podshape will work with businesses to shape their podcast audio strategy. The business is using Whooshka as its hosting platform and is seeking advertisers for its various offerings.

Walkerden says the new venture is about creative storytelling

Walkerden left Nova in March following an internal investigation. At the time, he said he was devastated to leave, and had “always acted with integrity and empathy” with teams across the board and clients.
