Former Nova exec Natalie Murray joins Mediasmiths as senior account planner

Mediasmiths has revealed another key hire, announcing that Natalie Murray, formerly the insights lead for independent agencies at Nova Entertainment, will join as a new senior account planner and buyer.

Murray brings 15 years’ media industry experience to the role, and will be tasked with end-to-end management, planning and buying for several of the independent agency’s key clients.

Murray has specialised in account planning, buying and research during her career. She previously held media buyer, planner and client implementation roles at Sandbox Media, Southern Cross Austereo and MTV.

She was also involved in the launch of the Independent Media Agencies of Australia (IMAA) earlier this year. In her new role, she’ll report to Mediasmiths managing director Angela Smith and business director Michael Smith.

Smith said Murray’s wealth of experience will help Mediasmiths deliver outstanding results for clients.

“We are very excited to have Natalie join the MediaSmiths team,” she said.

“She comes with a wealth of experience, having worked across both media and agency sides in a diverse number of roles, which have enriched her career to date.

“Natalie’s expertise across planning and buying, as well as research, means she will deliver outstanding campaign results for clients, based on informed decisions.

“Her natural ability to build relationships, and desire to drive results will also ensure our clients are extremely well looked after by someone with many years of omnichannel experience.”

Murray, whose appointment is effective immediately, said the values of Mediasmiths aligned with her own.

“I joined MediaSmiths to be part of an established and reputable independent media agency that is doing work I believe in; with integrity and aligned values, while working alongside great leaders that support not only their clients but also their employees in achieving exceptional success in their careers,” she said.

The hire follows last month’s appointment of ex-Carat investment director Corey Eyre as a senior account planner.
