Former Nova, TikTok, Pedestrian Group and MAFS talents join Urban List

Lifestyle publication Urban List has bolstered its commercial and studio teams, with 12 new appointments across New South Wales, Victoria and New Zealand, Mumbrella can reveal.

According to chief commercial officer, Jacqui La’Brooy, the past 12 months have been monumental for the platform – from winning flagship clients, launching new offerings, delivering exceptional growth year-on-year, all the way to building out its Urban List+ network.

“100% of our top 10 clients have been working with us for seven years straight – they understand the impact of the work we do and the audience we connect with; and we’re now in a position to build upon these successes to deliver even more impactful campaigns, deepen our relationships and push creative boundaries,” she said.

“2024 is going to be another mammoth year, with a calendar of new commercial offerings slated to drop every fortnight.”

Former Nova Entertainment sales manager Luke Kevin has joined Urban List as the Victorian commercial director, where he will lead the team through strategic partnerships and development.

Mary David and Jane Rusli have joined Kevin’s team, both with extensive experience in delivering data-led, cross-platform solutions. Rachel Duignan has been appointed to lead the New Zealand client offerings.

Bushra Khalid joins the publication from TikTok, where she worked in client solutions for just over two years, focusing on client partnerships in the FMCG, luxury, beauty, fashion and auto categories.

Podcaster, voiceover artist and ex-Married at First Sight star, Oliver Skelton, has also joined the commercial team. The Former SCA sales director will serve as NSW sales director, coupling his content creation capabilities with his passion for client relationships.

Across the studio team, Urban List has promoted Sally Herbert to head of studio, operations, after a year as commercial executive.

Herbert, who is ex-Fairfax Media and News Corp, joined the publication in July 2022.

Emma Bishop, formerly of Sitchu, has joined Urban List as commercial content editor, supported by recently promoted commercial content producer, Bridget O’Donohue.

Urban List’s lifestyle editor, Jessica Best, has been promoted to the newly created role of commercial video producer, extending her organic content experience to fuel client partnerships.

Finally, Felicity Johnson will now lead Urban List’s Victorian client services division, bringing her extensive sales experience after 3 years with Urban List, across to the successful execution of campaigns.

La’Brooy concluded: “We are incredibly excited about the quality of new talent joining the team – the additions will significantly enhance our ability to connect brands with high-intent audiences, and cement our commitment to providing exceptional branded solutions and service.”

The publication recently revealed its ‘State of Sips’ report, aimed at helping marketers navigating the shifting drinking habits of Aussies. Late last year, it also expanded its offerings with two new multichannel series, ‘BEST OF’ and “CULTURE CURVE’.
