A Four Corners report by Sarah Ferguson and Deb Masters into people smuggling won the top prize for the ABC at the Melbourne Press Club’s Quill Awards.

The report claimed the Monash University Gold Quill and also won in the Best TV Current Affairs/Feature over 10 Minutes category.

The ABC picked up five awards for TV and radio shows, while Seven, Nine and Ten claimed a single award each.

In the battle between Melbourne’s top newspapers, Fairfax’s The Age and News Limited’s Herald Sun both won seven awards, although the Sunday Herald Sun also won one, putting News Limited just ahead.
