Foxtel announces Project Runway host
Megan Gale has been appointed to host fashion reality show Project Runway Australia – which airs on Foxtel later this year.

FOXTEL today announced Australian supermodel and actress, Megan Gale, will host the highly anticipated third season of the hit fashion reality series Project Runway Australia.
Project Runway Australia will head-line an impressive line-up of exclusive Australian programming on FOXTEL in 2011. The cult fashion favourite will premiere on FOXTEL’s flagship channel FOX8 mid-year.
FOXTEL’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Megan to FOXTEL and very happy that she will helm a new exciting season of Project Runway Australia.
“Megan’s extensive international fashion credentials and star status, along with her down-to-earth Australian sensibilities make her a perfect fit to take Project Runway Australia into a fresh new phase.”
Megan Gale said: “I am so excited to announce that I’ll be hosting and working on Project Runway Australia, as I feel it is something that sits extremely well with what I do, having worked almost two decades in the fashion industry and now as a Creative Director and Designer of my own label. There’s advice that I can give, but I think there will much more that I can learn about fashion via this show and add it to what I already know, which will be an incredibly positive thing.”
Born and raised in Perth, Megan was discovered by a modelling agency after her mother enrolled her in deportment classes.
Moving to Italy in 1999, Megan landed a lucrative mobile phone contract that would fast launch her onto the world stage. After spending the next seven years abroad modelling and acting, she now speaks fluent Italian and calls the glamorous country her second home.
A favourite of many Australian fashion designers including Alex Perry, Colette Dinnigan and Sass & Bide <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sass_and_Bide> , Megan has graced the covers and pages of international magazines like; Marie Claire, Australian and Italian Vogue, Black & White, In Style, Harper’s Bazaar, Madison Magazine, Men’s Style, Australian and Italian GQ.
Project Runway Australia is a return to television for Megan who has previously appeared on Channel Nine’s Getaway, What A Year, Bodyworks and as Red Carpet host at the TV Week Logie Awards.
Megan’s creative passion came to fruition in 2010 with the launch of Isola by Megan Gale, a range of swimwear and resort wear she designs.
Megan now continues to spread her time between working on her upcoming Isola collection, her role as Brand Ambassador for David Jones, her appointment as National Ambassador for The Australian Red Cross and pursuing her love of acting.
Project Runway Australia is produced by FremantleMedia Australia and final auditions for twelve of the country’s next up-and-coming designers takes place this week.

She is not a supermodel and has never been a supermodel. This is just a name that has been bandied around for all the wanna be’s. Gemma Ward was a super model and she was an actress. So to Gindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell. Linda Evangelist and Yasmeen Ghauri, but megan Gale. Not on your life.
I suppose it is the make up that makes her look like a 20 year old rather than a 40 year old.
She spent 7 years abroad modelling and acting. What? Where? She lived in Italy with her ‘soulmate’.
She maybe a model for a phone company, but so is Lara Bingle. She may have acted as well. 5 seconds in a movie is not acting. Even Natalia Vodianova could be called a supermodel, but not Megan Gale. Our only so-called supermodel was Gemma Ward, and she did the catwalks and runways everywhere, but not in a David Janes catalogue. Even Anna Kournikova is more model than Megan Gale.
