The announcement:

Foxtel has secured the Australian rights to the eagerly awaited new Robin Williams comedy series The Crazy Ones, along with an impressive line-up of exciting new shows from the recent LA screenings.

The Crazy Ones will see Oscar-winner Robin Williams return to his television roots with his signature brand of humour in this inspired workplace comedy that also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar.

“The Crazy Ones was one of the standout shows at this year’s LA screenings, so we are thrilled to have secured the exclusive Australian premiere rights for Foxtel viewers,” said Brian Walsh, Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television.

“The quality of shows on offer this year was strong and we have walked away with an impressive array of programming from the different studios. Foxtel will continue to build its day and date strategy with many of these new series screening express from the US over the coming months.”

Also from 20th Century Fox as a result of the joint output deal with Network ten – Foxtel will premiere the animated comedy series Murder Police and the scripted crime drama Those Who Kill starring Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actress Chloe Sevigny.

Foxtel will also premiere the new private-eye drama King and Maxwell  starring Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn as characters inspired by best-selling author David Baldacci, from CBS Studios as well as the much anticipated high school alien teen drama, Star-Crossed.
