Foxtel to launch seven new channels

Foxtel has announced seven new channels will be added to its lineup over the coming months, with content from studios such as ITV, NBC Universal, BBC Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery.

The new linear channels include British, Real History, Real Crime, Famous, Travel, Fashion TV, and DocPlay – all of which are rather self-explanatory.

The first four channels (British, Real History, Real Crime, Famous) will join the service from August 1, with Fashion TV launching August 6, Travel on August 15, and DocPlay on September 3.

In addition, Foxtel will also be integrating the DocPlay app into iQ set top boxes from June 25.

“Over the past decade, the content distribution model has changed,” explains Stephanie Quinn, director of content partnerships at the Foxtel Group, “reinforcing the need for our business to remain dynamic and focused on what’s best for our customers.

“The addition of these new channels, as well as the DocPlay app, reflect the changing marketplace and gives us the freedom to make content acquisition decisions that best reflect our customers viewing preferences.

“We’re proud to offer our customers a diverse mix of premium content. These new channels and integrated app will provide customers with uninterrupted access to some of their favourite shows and titles across popular genres including drama, history, documentaries, and true crime.”

Foxtel will be announcing details of additional channels and integrated third-party apps soon.
