Frank Digital relaunches the City of Sydney’s ‘What’s On’ platform

Frank Digital has launched a revitalised ‘What’s On’ platform for the City of Sydney, to showcase upcoming events and hot spots in the city.

The announcement:

In 2014, digital agency Frank Digital released the unique platform ‘What’s On’ for the City of Sydney, showcasing the best events Sydney has to offer and allowing users to see the vibrant metropolis through a true local’s perspective.

Now, after five years, tens of thousands of events and thousands of users, Frank is launching the brand new version of the platform to make a great digital product even better for locals and visitors to Sydney in 2020.

The new website features a host of innovative and intuitive features such as a dynamic home page that visually adapts to the time of day (and even the weather); improved discovery with search and filtering using Algolia for lightning-fast results; functional patterns that make sense for an enhanced natural mobile experience; better integration with City of Sydney News content to give visitors a richer experience when it comes to finding out about events in Sydney; an improved event submission experience through the implementation of artificial intelligence to make the process more streamlined; and time-saving templates that populate pre-existing details for those who are submitting multiple events, instead of having to enter the same information over and over again

More people than ever are now contributing events to the platform through the event submission templates.

Frank Digital creative director Matt Barbelli, said: “As Sydneysiders, we’re proud to have been a key supporting force for the platform, right from its inception, through to its launch, and now its revitalisation five years later.

“The Frank team are excited to see what the future holds for this highly engaging platform that showcases all Sydney has to offer.”
