frankie magazine celebrates 20th birthday
frankie magazine has turned 20 years old, commemorating the occasion with issue #120.
The announcement:
This month, frankie magazine celebrates 20 years since it first hit the shelves. Its latest, issue #120, celebrates this milestone and features a striking cover made of upcycled plastic beads by Australian creator and longtime frankie collaborator, Rachel Burke.
In this 20th anniversary issue, frankie takes a trip down memory lane in its “Hall of Fame”, chatting with those who have shaped frankie since the beginning. Featuring the likes of author Benjamin Law, TV personality Myf Warhurst and the brains behind frankie, Lara Burke and Louise Bannister, the Hall of Fame celebrates the journey that frankie and its friends have been on so far. In true frankie style, this issue is also full of the weird and wonderful stories that its readers have come to know and love (like a pickle road test, plenty of rants and a roast chook recipe) and features fresh faces on the creative scene like Ayesha Madon.
frankie editor Shannon Jenkins says the lasting success of the magazine is a testament to frankie’s creative community of collaborators and readers. “Thanks to our clever, passionate and curious community, frankie continues to thrive and enjoy its unique place in the Australian media landscape. We look forward to continuing to tell funny, relatable and inspiring real-life stories, while providing a platform for super-talented creatives from Australia and all over the world.”
To mark the occasion, frankie is hosting a sold-out birthday party at Evie’s Disco Diner in Melbourne on June 26th.
The frankie team is excited to continue the beloved brand’s legacy by highlighting new makers and creators while cultivating its like-minded community, which has a monthly cross-platform reach of over 1 million people.
frankie is also expanding the brand’s creative agency arm, frankie studio. The fusion of a 20-year heritage, authentic connection to the creative community and a unique brand vision will see frankie continue to create even more highly engaging, tailored content for its clients and partners in the future.
