Freeview appoints new head of marketing

Industry TV body Freeview has appointed Jennifer Lee to head of marketing following the departure of Scott Mota earlier this month.

Lee replaces Scott Mota who had been in the role since 2015

Mota had led the marketing team since 2015, helping to drive the creative side of the Freeview brand, and was announced as the new chief marketing officer of cinema chain Dendy earlier this week.

Lee joins Freeview with more than 15 years of marketing experience, most recently as associate director, marketing Asia Pacific at 20th Century Fox.

She has also worked with Warner Music Australia and Sony Music Entertainment.

Liz Ross, CEO of Freeview, said it was an “exciting” time for Lee to come on board.

“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer to the team at what is a very exciting time for the Freeview platform, particularly following the successful launch of Freeview FV, the world-first mobile live-steaming app, in November last year,” Ross said.

“Jennifer’s considerable marketing experience and understanding of the entertainment industry make her a great fit for Freeview and she will be a big asset for the organisation as we continue to expand our products.”

Commenting on her appointment at Freeview, Lee said she was excited to work with a team that created an “impressive and innovative program to revolutionise the TV experience”.

Lee’s appointment commences immediately.
