Gareth Allsopp joins Mahlab as head of creative

Content and PR agency Mahlab has hired Gareth Allsopp as its head of creative.

For the past three years Allsopp has been freelancing as an art director and working with brands and agencies including Coles Flybuys, CommBank and Mahlab.

Prior to his freelancing stint, Allsopp was the creative group head for David Jones at M&C Saatchi.

He has also held positions as Pacific Magazines’ creative director of advertising and Marie Claire’s senior art director of advertising.

Mahlab’s founder and MD, Bobbi Mahlab said in a statement: “Gareth is a hugely talented creative director, having led campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands, including P&G, Colgate and the L’Oréal Group. He brings innovative new ideas and thinking to our creative department, already adding additional value to our clients and our team.”

Allsopp’s appointment comes two months after the agency opened a PR arm with Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting as a foundation client.

“Mahlab has a team of very talented designers, digital experts, producers and art directors. I could not have asked for a better team to lead. I’m looking forward to working with them to tell our clients’ stories in exciting new ways,” Allsopp added.
