Gemba names Octagon executive to lead marketing strategy

Sports and entertainment agency Gemba has appointed Adam Hodge to the newly created role of divisional manager – marketing strategy.

Hodge joins the business after almost nine years at Octagon, the last five as head of planning and strategy for APAC. He was responsible for the creative and commercial strategy for all Octagon clients across the region.

The appointment follows Gemba’s recently-announced restructure that saw the creation of a new holding company, Tenka Group, and the promotion of head of sports and entertainment marketing, Andrew Condon, to MD.

“I can’t recall being this excited about an appointment during my time here. We are thrilled to have found someone of Adam’s calibre,” Condon said.

“He’s a quality leader who buys into our vision for the industry and our group of companies. Adam has a brilliant feel for how fans engage with their passions and a proven ability to translate this into quality work for his clients.”

Hodge said: “I’ve admired and respected Gemba for many years and have always been impressed with their insight-led creative thinking. I’m looking forward to working with the exceptional team here and with some of the world’s most innovative and exciting brands.

“The revised business and management structure places Gemba in a very strong position for ongoing growth which I’m excited to contribute to.”
