Getaway takes Nine over the line in sluggish Thursday for TV viewing

Seven’s Matty Johns show saw a slight improvement in Sydney and Brisbane on Thursday – but not enough for the network to avoid defeat for the night by Nine.

The show came 12th in Sydney (248,000) and 9th in Brisbane (166,000) , according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam – an improvement on last week when it was 17th and 12th.

Across the board it was a poor night for free TV, with the only one non-news and current affairs show getting more than 1.1m – Nine’s Getaway.
