GHO Sydney hires former R/GA talent as strategy director

Creative digital agency GHO has hired Shruti Rai as its strategy director, moving across from sustainability startup Greener.

Rai has held senior positions at R/GA Sydney, where she was senior experience designer for four years. At Greener, where she was head of product.

It’s not Rai’s first experience with GHO. She previously freelanced at the agency as experience design strategy director in 2019 and 2020.

Strategy partner as GHO, James Legge said: “As we continue to strengthen our offering across the entire brand experience, Shruti brings a powerful skillset to the agency. She’ll be an invaluable addition to the team in helping clients navigate uncertainty, both in the marketplace and their own organisations.”

On her appointment, Rai said: “We know that COVID has dramatically accelerated digital transformation, so I’m excited to partner with our clients to help capitalise on this rapid transition. As a company that’s rethinking the role that agencies can play, GHO provides the perfect opportunity to contribute my experience in designing, building and shipping user-centric products and services.“

In her past roles, Rai has worked with clients including Toyota, Telstra, Cochlear, Disney+, Nike, Google, Unicef and Samsung, in addition to advisory roles focusing on EdTech and CleanTech.

MD at GHO Sydney, Eithne McSwiney said she was excited to have Rai retuning to work with the agency again.

Earlier this year, GHO hired Peter Ogden as its new creative director. Hamish Stewart was also appointed as the agency’s latest equity partner in March,  joining the leadership team which includes Legge, Ryan Chao, McSwiney and founder Peter Hosking.

GHO Sydney’s brand and experience design output includes work for clients including Adobe, Allianz, Aware Super, Breville, CommBank, CommSec, Family Planning NSW, PetSure, and Schroders. Other recent wins include Exchange for Change and Diabetes Australia.
