Global agency Crowd launches in Australia

Global, independent creative agency, Crowd has opened Crowd Australia in Sydney, its first office in the southern hemisphere. The new office will be led by Crowd’s global chief commercial officer, Vinnie Romano, with his remit covering Australia, as managing director, as well as responsibility for the wider APAC region.

The announcement follows Crowd’s September launch of Crowd Spain in Madrid and significant recruitment across its operations in the UK, US, Middle East and The Netherlands throughout 2020. Crowd Australia will be the 10th global location in the group’s portfolio.

Romano, who’s experience includes stints at Publicis, VCCP, BBDO and Frizbee, will report to Crowd’s global CEO, Jamie Sergeant. He will work closely with Crowd’s regional managing directors with the aim to maximise global revenue, reduce unnecessary spend and raise the agency’s profile. He will also be responsible for connecting with and driving demand for local clients in this region.

Romano said the agency’s mix of insight-led data analysis, strategy and delivery had proven successful for Crowd’s clients around the world, and that he was confident that bringing that approach to Australia would be valued.

“I’m excited about the opportunity of leading Crowd Australia’s offering,” he said. “This is the first, crucial, stepping stone into the wider APAC region. I look forward to combining my local market knowledge with our global, creative and digital experience.”

Founded in 2012, with operations from San Francisco to now Sydney, Crowd works with governments, independent businesses and multinational enterprises such as Kenwood, Razor and China Southern Airlines to create brand experiences that combine data science, technology innovation and marketing.
