Global skincare brand Beiersdorf appoints Red Havas across AUNZ communications

Global skincare company Beiersdorf, producer of brands including Nivea, Nivea Men and Elastoplast, has appointed Red Havas in Australia and New Zealand following a competitive pitch.

The three-year appointment sees Red Havas take responsibility for delivering the socially-led communication strategy and implementation across social content, creation, influencer marketing and PR for Beiersdorf in Australia and New Zealand.

Beiersdorf’s general manager of marketing, Kate Hensley, said: “Working with Red Havas is an important strategic step in ensuring Nivea is future ready. I couldn’t think of a better partner to lead us on that journey, in driving a stronger and closer connection to the consumers who know and love us and those who are only just discovering the brand for the very first time.”

Beiersdorf ‘s head of ecommerce, digital and media, Christopher Abraham, added: “The appointment of Red Havas marked an exciting step for us, as we seek to build on the legacy of our historic brands and develop a communications model that operates end-to-end with the consumer at its heart. We’re delighted to have found another partner that has already been able to add value on that journey.”

Red Havas’ consumer PR practice head, Reema Babakhan, said: “Beiersdorf brands have such a rich heritage and we are happy to be working with the team to maintain their strong reputation amongst Australian and New Zealand households. Meaningful work is core to the Red Havas ethos and the integrated campaigns we have planned for Beiersdorf are sure to deliver on that.”

Red Havas has worked with a slew of other clients including: Revlon, Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream, Menulog, Tassal Salmon, Booking.com, and Sanitarium.

Earlier this year, CEO of Red Havas, Sarah Trombetta left the agency, with One Green Bean CEO Simone Gupta subsequently expanding her remit to Havas PR CEO, to cover the Red Havas as well.
