Go Back To Where You Came From wins at Rose d’Or Festival

An Australian series has won two awards at an international TV festival over night.

The Rose d’Or Festival in Lucerne Switzerland awarded Go Back To Where You Came From in the Best Factual Entertainment category followed by the coveted Golden Rose for best of 2012 across all platforms and categories.

Michael Ebeid, SBS managing director said: “Go Back to Where You Came From has set a new standard for SBS television content. The series sparked national debate about a topic so often hijacked by political campaigning and media headlines, by providing a unique and compelling perspective on the realities of refugee life.”

Go Back To Where You Came From was produced by Cordell Jigsaw, now Cordell Jigsaw Zapruders, for SBS television.

The show won for both its entertainment value and cultural relevance.

The Awards have been going since 1961 and is considered one of the most important international entertainment television festivals.
