Gogglebox brings the giggles and tops entertainment; Seven and Nine take 28.5% overall share

Ten’s Gogglebox Australia took the entertainment crown with 458,000 metro viewers on Thursday night, while Nine and Seven claimed the same network share of 28.5%. The program also won all three key advertising demographics. 

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 13 October, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.456 million viewers, including 37,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%. The Handmaid’s Tale on SBS had the biggest uplift of 419% and was viewed by a total audience of 534,000, with 248,000 on BVOD.

Back to overnights, Gogglebox was followed by Home and Away also on Seven, with 448,000 viewers

The Chase Australia on Seven had 436,000 metro viewers tuning in, followed by Paramedics on Nine with 407,000 metro viewers.

Nine’s RBT attracted 405,000 metro viewers, coming before Nine’s Hot Seat, with 341,000 watching.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Thursday with 822,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6.30 with 809,000 metro viewers. Nine News aired to 733,000, and Nine News at 6:30 brought in 707,000. Next was ABC News which pulled in 584,000 viewers, while A Current Affair brought in 548,000.

In terms of overall share, as mentioned Nine and Seven tied with a shared of 28.5%, followed by Ten’s 18%, and ABC on a 17.2% share.

Nine secured the top primary channel share with 21.1% while Seven followed with 19.2%. The top-rating multi-channel on Thursday was 7TWO with a share of 5.3%.
