Golden Target 2011 PR winners revealed

Australia’s main PR body has revealed the winners in its national awards. The Public Relations Institute of Australia’s Golden Targets named winners across 16 categories.

The ceremony took place in Sydney last night. Among the work recognised was Brisbane City Council’s communications during the Queensland floods and a campaign to persuade people to move to NSW regional cities.

Jon Bisset, PRIA’s chief executive, said: “The awards provide invaluable case studies for those seeking to improve their practice or learn more about the profession.”

Emergency & crisis communication

  • Winner: Greg Swain, Brisbane City Council – Brisbane City Council – January 2011 flood crisis communication
  • Highly Commended: Isabelle Johnson, Ergon Energy – Ergon Energy’s communication response to Cyclone Yasi
