Red Agency wins PR Consultancy of the Year at Golden Target Awards

PRIA

PR and marketing communications agency Red Agency has been recognised as the PR consultancy of the year at the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) annual Golden Target Awards.

The campaign of the year was won by financial PR firm Financial & Corporate Relations for its work managing an industrial relations dispute involving an employee who made allegations against the Egyptian shipping company National Navigation Company, as a result of the allegations the company’s ships were blacklisted in Port Kembla and Gladstone.

Financial & Corporate Relations’ campaign saw the firm engage with maritime industry leaders to repeal the blacklist and continue to operate in Australia.

The (PRIA) 2014 Golden Target Awards were held Monday night at the Brisbane Convention Centre with sixty-four finalists in 13 categories from more than 169 entries in total.

Other winners on the night included Edelman which won twice in the Business to Business public relations category, Porter Novelli Melbourne, PPR WA, Phillips Group, The Red Republic, Weber Shandwick, NSW Health, Pesel and Carr and Palin Communications.

Mike Watson, PRIA National President, said “What another fantastic year for the Golden Target Awards, in its 38th year, it’s amazing to see 60 plus campaigns recognised by the industry’s top talent.

“The Australian PR industry continues to lead globally, and we are honoured to have Michelle Hutton, one of our own, head off to bigger pastures in London.”

Allison Lee, Golden Target Awards Chair and Deputy President of PRIA , said: “Creative ideas and innovative responses win not just awards, but also client and company respect. As a result, clients are increasingly turning to PR companies to lead those other agencies operating in the marketing mix – and so they should.”
