Google launches new campaign for Nest Cam via 72 and Sunny, Essence and PHD

Google Australia and 72 and Sunny Sydney, in collaboration with Essence and PHD, have launched a campaign to introduce the new Google Nest Cams and Doorbell in Australia.

The ‘Caught On Nest Cam’ campaign is based on the insight obtained by the tech giant that, for many Australians, security products are used most often to check in on their homes and feel connected to the things they love within them – like their pets. Nest Cams and Doorbell can also recognise the difference between packages, people and pets.

The creative introduces an array of characters that you might find at a home, from pets to wombats. The campaign will run across digital and social, TV and Outdoor with more executions to follow.

Julia Davis, head of devices and services marketing, Google AUNZ said: “We are thrilled to partner with 72 and Sunny on this campaign, which introduces our next generation Nest Cam and Doorbell. Google Nest’s mission is to build products that make a more helpful home. All of this starts with helping you understand what’s happening within the walls of your home and outside of it.”

72 and Sunny Sydney head of product, Luke Martin, said: “Partnering with Google to create these light-hearted films was an absolute joy. It’s not everyday you get to work with zombies, posties, wombats and Sam Simmons; the perfect combination for a fun packed campaign.”

The concept was adapted from a global campaign strategy, #NestPets, created by Arts & Letters for Google in the US. Three of the films were originated locally, two were adaptations.

72 and Sunny has helped to grow the Google Nest business in Australia since its launch four years ago. They also partner with Google across brand and Pixel campaigns.

72 and Sunny Sydney has been working with Google since the agency launched in Australia in 2017.

In November 2020, Google appointed 72 and Sunny to work on a campaign promoting its range of 5G Google Pixel phones and Google Nest home smart devices.

In April 2021, Google released an ad campaign for the Australian Football League (AFL) called ‘Helping you help them – Aussie Rules’ via 72 and Sunny.

The Hallway was first appointed by Google’s creative account in October 2014.
