GPY&R loses Career One to Clemenger BBDO

Clemenger BBDO Sydney has won the creative account for the News Ltd-affiliated online recruitment site Career One following a three-month pitch involving incumbent George Patterson Y&R Sydney.

The move was announced by marketing director John Giro. He said: “We were highly impressed by all the pitches and thank the companies that worked so hard on them, but it was Clemenger BBDO that best answered our brief. It was clear during the pitching process that Clemenger’s approach and enthusiasm for the project made them the ideal partners for Career One.”

He added: “GPY&R has played a key role in Career One’s extraordinary growth over the past three years. Their strong campaigns have helped us attract record levels of traffic and we thank them for their hard work and commitment.

“Things have changed a great deal at CareerOne over the past six months and we are now reaping the rewards of having both News Limited and Monster Worldwide as parent companies.”

The account is part of a winning run for Clemenger BBDO, whose Sydney office won the top prize at last week’s Effies effectiveness awards, while Clemenger BBDO Melbourne won best in show at the MADC Awards on Friday night.
