Grant Denyer plays bingo host in Supercheap Auto’s new star-studded campaign

Grant Denyer, DJ Carl Cox, and Corey Parker are among a cavalcade of stars who cameo in Supercheap Auto’s hilarious new campaign, in which five retired drivers race full throttle to a bingo game at a retirement village.

The seven-minute epic (at least, in advertisement terms) is the ninth instalment in Supercheap Auto’s ‘Keep it Running Super with the Best Performing Oils’, with a whopping 29 motorsports icons and celebrities lining up to appear in the film.

The action-packed piece finds five “retired” drivers — Chaz Mostert, Molly Taylor, Matt Mingay, James Moffatt and David Reynolds — racing to make a bingo game, which is naturally hosted by Grant Denyer.

Elsewhere, we see the likes of NASCAR-bound driver Shane van Gisbergen, international DJ Carl Cox, retired NRL star Corey Parker, Australian motorbike racer Daniel Sanders, and Marty and Moog, hosts of the Mighty Car Mods YouTube channel.

‘Retirement Rampage’ was directed by Miles Murphy, and filmed over four days at Palm Meadows Over 50s Village, and Mudgeeraba Town Hall, on the Gold Coast.

Ten current Supercars drivers suffered through two hours of prosthetic ageing makeup each day in order to achieve the look.

The 2023 edition follows last year’s film, which clocked up over 40 million views across social media.

“Amid cost-of-living pressures and more people seeking DIY car care solutions, we want this fun campaign to focus on the importance of looking after your vehicle for the long term and ‘keep it running super’ when it comes to checking and changing engine oil,” Supercheap Auto content manager Reece Moger said.

“A lot goes on behind-the-scenes to create our Best Performing Engine Oils campaign film with this scope and cast. Everyone genuinely has a great time, which is exactly the energy and attitude we want people to adopt when servicing and improving their vehicles.

“Over the past nine years, these films have become an iconic auto entertainment series, not only in Australia but globally, and our latest campaign is geared for similar success.”
