Grant Williams joins NSW Police Force as executive director of public affairs

The former deputy director of news and current affairs at Nine Grant Williams has joined the NSW Police Force as its executive director of public affairs.

Williams was the deputy director of news and current affairs at Nine for over a year after being promoted from a national executive producer role.

Williams has joined the NSW Police Force’s communications team

Nine’s deputy director of news and current affairs departed the Network quietly in February after Nine confirmed his contract had expired and not been renewed.

Throughout his career Williams has also spent time as an executive producer to John Laws at 2UE for two years.

In 1989, Williams had a stint at the NSW Police Force as a detective senior constable.

Williams said in a statement to Mumbrella: “I’m thrilled to be starting in this new role and look forward to leading the public affairs team and working with the Commissioner’s Executive to drive the development and implementation of internal and external communication services and to ensure police and the community receive accurate, timely and balanced information about NSW Police Force services, activities and achievements.”
