Greg Wallace appointed Ad Standards executive director
Ad Standards has appointed Greg Wallace as its new executive director.
Wallace joins the advertising standards peak body in August, and brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience spanning marketing, government, and the not for-profit sector.
Most recently, Wallace was general manager of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation. As a marathon runner himself, Wallace is the organiser of the Coast to Kosciuszko 240km, and recently completed a 1400km run across Thailand to raise funds for Hands Across the Water.
“Greg’s expertise in marketing, governance, and community engagement makes him an ideal leader for Ad Standards,” said Gillian Franklin, chair of Ad Standards, in a release announcing the appointment.
“He joins us at a time when the advertising landscape is rapidly evolving, regulatory complexity is growing, and public expectations are higher than ever.”
Wallace said he is honoured to lead a team “dedicated to ensuring advertising reflects the values and attitudes of Australians”.
“I’m passionate about the power of advertising to inform, inspire and connect, and equally committed to maintaining high industry standards that foster trust and accountability.”
