Grey merges planning and digital role in new appointment
Grey has drafted former FMCG marketer Steve Sammartino to the new role of director of planning and integration.
The creation of the new position brings together planning and digital and follows the departure of director of planning Simon Rich to M&C Saatchi London.
Sammartino most recently founded Rentoid.com, the peer-to-peer rental website. The business was launched in July 2007 and Sammartino continues to have a stake in it.
He has previously worked in various marketing manager and category marketing director roles for companies including Kraft, Foster’s, Kimberly Clark and Procter & Gamble.
Sammartino’s appointment closely follows that of Abundant Media founder Luke Waldren who moved into the role of managing partner. Waldren has had over 20 years of experience in ad agencies including Lintas, FCB and JWT.
He also worked at Singleton Ogilvy & Mather in 2003, initially as executive director and after six months, as managing director.
Its great to see a guy who’s worked in the on-line space as an entreprenuar and learnt a lot make the move into strategy to assist others. Well done Grey we will be talking to them to talk digital

Have to say (Tim), it’s good to see people jump on and send best wishes to the subjects of posts like this.. the whole site feels different to other (more Creative sites) because of the vibe of the user-gen. The gentle, curatorial hand is working nicely..
