Grey Sydney picks up Volvo Car Australia following global realignment of roster

Volvo logo Volvo Car Australia has shifted its creative account to Grey Sydney from Arnold Furnace following a global realignment of its agency roster, Mumbrella can reveal.

Arnold Furnace had held the account since February 2013, with Grey now Volvo’s agency of record for brand and tactical communications, following the global realignment last December.

Grey GroupOliver Peagam, marketing and communications director of Volvo Car Australia, said: “Arnold Furnace have been great partners in our business, helping to drive the success of our brand through this very exciting time. It’s unfortunate to be parting ways but I’m equally excited about the next chapter with Grey.

“They have shown a fantastic initial understanding of our brand and we’re looking forward to working closely with them to communicate our brand offering with strategic and creative thinking.”

The win follows on from Grey’s Melbourne office landing new business with the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) and the Emerson Group, with new projects set to launch in the coming months. It also follows on from Grey Melbourne retaining the Victorian WorkCover Authority business, securing a place on the roster alongside McCann Melbourne and The Shannon Group.

Those wins followed the loss of long-time client Transport Accident Commission (TAC) at the end of last year.

Paul Worboys, chief operating officer of Grey Group Australia, said: “We are extremely proud to be able to help take Volvo to the next level. The quality and technical innovation of their vehicles are market leading and with new, groundbreaking models being released next year, there’s no better time to be partnered with them. It’s exciting to be aligned with such an innovative company.”

On the account move, Anthony Gregorio, CEO Arnold Furnace/Havas Worldwide Australia Group said: “It’s part of life in this business that sometimes you win from international alignments and sometimes you lose. We have enjoyed working with the team at Volvo and been proud of the campaigns we have produced for them. We wish them and Grey the best of luck for the future.”

Grey Sydney’s other clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Hong Kong Tourism Board and the 4 Pines Brewing Company. In Melbourne the agency looks after clients including Holden, Bakers Delight, the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club and WorkSafe.
