Grill’d marketing director Col Kennedy moves to Cotton On
Burger chain Grill’d has lost its marketing director, with Col Kennedy returning to Cotton On and taking up the role of general manager of customer.
Kennedy joined Grill’d in March last year from Country Road, where he was general manager of brand and customer experience. He has also been general manager of marketing at Target, and previously spent time at Cotton On as global head of marketing and e-commerce.
Grill’d was unable to comment on the departure, but Mumbrella understands a replacement has not yet been appointed.
A Cotton On spokesperson said the group was pleased to welcome Kennedy back into the fold.
“We’re excited to welcome Col Kennedy back to the Cotton On Group in the role of general manager, customer,” the spokesperson told Mumbrella in a statement. “Col will be leading all aspects of marketing, PR, digital marketing, social media, store experience and creative, with a newly-formed customer team across Cotton On, Cotton On Body and Rubi.”
Wow he moves around a lot… hopefully he has found something he likes now.
Grill’d have certainly been through a revolving door of Heads of Marketing for the last 5 years!

Not at all sure what is happening at Grilld, shocking turnover in all departments. Terrible and expensive.

When someone moves companies this often, you start to consider maybe it is not the companies that the issue is with. Seriously – I know our industry has a short tenure average but this is ridiculous

I had an insight into the Grill’d culture a few years back – there’s a reason why they call them Grill’d! haha Truthfully – terrible culture and anyone who is a decent human being leaves within a few years.
