Group M promotes Mindshare’s Mandy Kennett to talent development director

Mandy KennettGroup M has put Mindshare’s chief talent officer Mandy Kennett in a newly created role as talent development director for Group M.

Although based in Sydney, Kennett will work across Australia to develop the group’s learning and development strategy and measure its effectiveness.

Kennett will also work closely with regional training teams and heads of talent to deliver training programs across the group.

Elissa Good-Omozusi, chief human resources and talent officer of GroupM Australia said Group M’s commitment to training and development encourages staff to stay longterm.

“We take the development of our people very seriously,” she said. “It’s one of the reasons why people want to join and stay at Group M – to further their careers, for their own personal growth, and to play a part in a growing and successful group of agencies. It also makes sense for us to have a group full of engaged, talented, high performing people. Therefore retaining Mandy Kennett as our talent development director is a win-win all round.”

Kennett has worked with Mindshare for over 15 years in total, having first joined the company in 1997 and returned in 2004 after spending a year at Zenith Optimedia. Kennett has been chief talent officer at Mindshare for the last two years.

Good-Omozusi said her wealth of knowledge in talent management and development is complemented by a good understanding of the business.

Kennett said: “It is very exciting to be moving into a role that will enable me to fulfil my passion as well as be part of growing and developing the great talent we have across GroupM.”

Kennett’s role commenced in October, and her position at Mindshare was filled by Kerry Field, former general manager of Mindshare, who is now the agency’s chief of talent.
