GrowthOps appoints Clems’ Jason Polson as group director of creative

Marketing and technology group GrowthOps has announced the appointment of Jason Polson to the newly created role of group director of creative.

Polson joins from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, where he was managing partner, and will now also be responsible for leading AJF Partnership, which was acquired by GrowthOps, as managing director.

AJF business director Andrew Fabbro said so far the GrowthOps acquisition is tracking well.

“Since we founded AJF in 2005, we’ve grown to become one of Australia’s most effective creative agencies with exceptionally talented and dedicated staff. We saw GrowthOps as an opportunity to expand our offering to clients, and move into new geographies, while also fostering the creative DNA in our culture,” he said.

“Now is the right time to appoint a leader to AJF with the capability and experience to fully integrate our creative offering with GrowthOps’ expertise in technology and people. It’s an important step in the evolution of our business that we’ve no doubt will best service our clients and provide opportunity for our staff.”

Fabbro, along with executive creative directors, Adam Francis, Andrew Foote and Joshua Stephens, will all remain in their roles with AJF and GrowthOps.

Polson said he is drawn to GrowthOps’ evolutionary mindset.

“I wanted to connect and engage with people, technology and creativity in a truly entrepreneurial environment. The GrowthOps team has proven to drive substantial change and growth for clients in innovative ways and have similar ambitions for themselves,” he said.

“I am drawn to that evolutionary mindset and looking forward to affecting change with the extraordinary people at AJF, their clients and the broader GrowthOps capabilities.”

GrowthOps chief executive Paul Mansfield added that Polson is a good fit for the GrowthOps culture and expectations.

“When it comes to our people, we have unapologetically high standards. We’re determined to work with the best and keep getting better. Having worked in creative agencies in senior leadership roles for twenty years across Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, Jason’s proven track record and passion for brand- led customer experience makes him well-positioned to lead the creative practice at GrowthOps,” Mansfield said.

“The team at AJF are widely recognised as industry leaders in long-term big brand effectiveness. There’s no doubt, however, that the industry is changing. The more conventional consulting and agency models aren’t enough to meet current client needs, let alone position them for the future. At GrowthOps, we’ve fused together world-class creative, technology, and people expertise to create a new category in growth services.”

Along with its acquisition of AJF Partnership, GrowthOps has also acquired Khemistry, Voodoo Creative, and Asia-Pacific Digital, after listing on the ASX last year.
