Initiative appoints Chris Colter as national strategy director

Initiative Australia has named Chris Colter as national strategy director.

Colter joins from fellow IPG Mediabrands agency UM, where he has held a number of roles since 2012, most recently as Sydney strategy director. In this role, he became known for his work on the Tourism Australia Dundee campaign.

“It’s this talent that has brought him so much recognition in recent years and we will be fully empowering him to expand and explore that ability with Initiative and our growing portfolio of brands.”

Colter will report to Sam Geer, chief strategy officer for Initiative. He will also lead strategy for Carlsberg across the Asia Pacific region.

Earlier this year, Initiative hired Sam Enshaw and Mark Jones as strategy directors, to be based in Melbourne.
