Gruen finale pulls in 948,000 for ABC as Nine wins night with reality program The Block

GruenThe finale of panel show Gruen pulled in 948,000 metro viewers for the ABC last night, down on the series premiere audience of 974,000.

The marketing-based panel show was the third most-watched show amongst viewers aged 16-39 and the second most-watched show amongst 18-49s and 25-54s while The Block was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics and of the night after pulling in 1.037m metro viewers in the 7.30pm timeslot for Nine.

Nine won the night with an audience share of 20.8 per cent, ahead of Seven’s share of 18.8 per cent. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 13.9 per cent while Ten settled for a share of 10.9 per cent, according to OzTam’s overnight metro ratings.

Also in the 7.30pm timeslot, Seven’s Highway Patrol was watched by 680,000, with a second episode of the cop reality show at 8pm pulling in 754,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s repeat double episode of Modern Family was watched by 382,000 at 7.30, growing marginally to 391,000 at 8pm as the network struggles to fill the void left by The Bachelorette.

At 8.30pm, Seven’s Blindspot grabbed 659,000 metro viewers while Nine’s The Celebrity Apprentice, which kicked off at 8.40pm, was watched by 645,000.

Ten’s Madam Secretary pulled in 350,000 metro viewers.

On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 722,000, Kitchen Cabinet (8pm) pulled in 662,000 and The Ex-PM (9pm) had an audience of 594,000.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6pm had the biggest audience with 1.003m tuning in, dipping to 927,000 from 6.30pm. Nine News at 6pm was watched by 985,000, sliding to 961,000 from 6.30pm.

In breakfast TV, Seven’s Sunrise was watched by 321,000, just ahead of Nine’s Today which was watched by 315,000.

On pay TV, the Lifestyle Channel’s Gogglebox was watched by 141,000.
