Gruen takes entertainment crown; Nine wins Wednesday

Gruen on ABC won entertainment on Wednesday, however, it was Nine which celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to a metro audience of 510,000 viewers, followed by the network’s Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell which brought in 489,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 20 July, Seven News was the top program nationally across linear, with 1.514 million viewers, including 42,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 3%. The program with the greatest uplift in the top 20 programs was Aftertaste on ABC with an uplift of 53%, watched by 447,000 total TV viewers, and 75,000 on BVOD.

Next in entertainment was The Chase Australia which pulled in 488,000 metro viewers, followed by Beauty and the Geek on Nine with a metro audience of 474,000.

A repeat episode of Travel Guides was next grabbing 451,000 metro viewers, while Hot Seat on the same network brought in an average metro audience of 427,000.

Seven News was the #1 metro program on Wednesday with 882,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 860,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 was next with 847,000 metro viewers, and Nine News with 845,000 viewers.

A Current Affair brought in 675,000 metro viewers, ABC News saw 606,000 tune in, and ABC’s 7:30 News had 535,000 viewers in all five major capital cities.

As mentioned, in overall network share for Wednesday, Nine won the night with a 30.7% network share ahead of Seven’s 23.6%, Ten finished with an 18.5% share, while ABC had an 18.1% share.
