Gruen wins its time slot in penultimate episode of the season

ABC’s Gruen has continued to perform well for the broadcaster, with 727,000 metro viewers in last night’s penultimate episode of the season.

The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, which aired directly after the Wil Anderson-fronted show, also won its later time slot with 630,000 metro viewers.

Overall Seven won the highest overall main channel audience share for the night thanks to its news show, which pulled in 1.053m viewers and House Rules, which achieved 763,000.

The home renovation show came second in key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54. First in the same demographics was Ten’s Masterchef, which achieved 847,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s main channel achieved 19.0% of the audience, while Nine’s pulled in 17.4%. Ten wasn’t too far behind with 14.4%.

Despite winning two time slots, ABC’s main channel managed a 12.8% share overall.

SBS achieved 6.4% after none of its shows appeared in the top 20 for the night.

Love Island Australia provided a boost to Nine’s total network share with an additional 195,000 viewers from its multichannel station 9GO!.

Nine achieved a total network share of 25.7%, but it wasn’t enough to beat Seven, which achieved a 28.7% share.

Network Ten achieved 20.0%, ABC Network pulled in 17.2%, while SBS failed to achieve a double digit total network share with 8.4%.
