honestly, wednesday is a dead night for television- and last nights Gruen was suprisingly boring. Not up to their usual high standard- nobody got fired up, nothing really groundbreaking was said and both the pitches went for laughs, not actual ideas.
still, better than- harcore pawn? Is that what its called? 1 hour of poor people selling their possesions so they can buy some more crack… shoot me now.

I agree Thomas! It was a boring episode. I’m tired of same old, same old with Gruen – Russel starts to make a point, Todd jumps in & all over him, Wil seems to enoy it & then Russel eventually makes his point people agree with it. Some really obvious jokes were made, which you usually expect with Wil elsewhere, but he holds back on Gruen.

What does it say when the top-rating non-news show of the night is about advertising on a non-commercial station? Not sure actually.
Re the episode being not quite up to previous standards, at least it was the last in the current series. Andrew Denton understands that you don’t milk something to death just because it rates well.

People dont seem to realise(or are just starting to) that the comedians( I use the term loosely) on TV smile and think they are very clever when they say something they think is clever and witty. Same old stuff being said week in and week out.the hosts just sit back and let the others do the work-see Good news week, spicks and specks. etc. why do all these shows just have quizzes- see spicks and specks, your gen.etc paradigm shift anyone?

Why does no-one else see what I see with Gruen Transfer? Sorry, my wife is the exception. She sees “Smug advertising people thinking they’re so smart telling us the really obvious ways their industry sucks us all in”. Ok I feel better now.
