Hamilton Island wedding delivers ratings win for Sunrise

Sunrise’s live Hamilton Island wedding took the Seven show to an all states win over Today on Friday.

Sunrise broadcast the entire show from the tourist resort, delivering a metro victory of 366,000 to 290,000. Sunrise also beat Nine’s Today in all five capital cities, according to the overnight preliminary OzTAM data.

Meanwhile, the most watched programme in Sydney on Friday night was live NRL, which rated 504,000 in the city for the Rabbitohs-Roosters clash.

The game also saw half time entertainment from Nova’s Michael Wipfli dressed as Tina Turner in a pre-wedding stag challenge.

Seven’s AFL coverage in Melbourne did similarly well, pulling in an audience of 509,000 in the city.
