Mumbrella hangout on Rupert Murdoch
The director of SBS’s documentary Murdoch feature in a Mumbrella Google Hangout.
UK-based director Janice Sutherland joined the conversation from London.
Sutherland has been making documentaries since 1996 and has covered a wide range of topics including the death of Princess Diana, war, The Satanic Verses, Shakespeare, and now Rupert Murdoch.
The Google Hangout was hosted by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes.
Hi. Could you lead me through this hangout thing? Would like to listen, don’t know how. I am over 50 and a technophobe, so could you make it simple?
regards,
margo

Hi Margo,
I hope you can join us. All you need to do is come back to this page on Tuesday afternoon. You’ll be able to watch, simply by hitting play on the video player which will be sitting at the top from about an hour beforehand (we’ll confirm the start time on Monday but are working towards 3pm Eastern). If you’re not around to watch live, it will also be available as a replay afterwards, also on this page.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Mr Murdoch can you explain how journalism and the public’s right to know are served by your ownership of 70% of Australia’s print media?

Am I being an idiot, or is this not working?

My apologies to anyone who tuned in at our usual time – we had a technical glitch which led to a very late start.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Love the fact you are using the Google+ Hangout feature, but there is very little Google+ love on your site? You guys could use the new Google+ comments system and also a Google+ badge in your “Follow Us” section to the upper right.
