Hard Yakka returns to TV advertising after 8 years
Hard Yakka has returned to television after an eight-year hiatus with an ad to show how Hard Yakka Legends pants can even outlast a workman’s tools. The ad, shot at CB Quarry in Wollongong and featuring the Hard Yakka chant, is the first work by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne since the agency won the business in December last year.
Laura Downey, Hard Yakka’s brand manager, said that the brand is about more than hard wearing clothing. “Hard Yakka is a badge of belonging. It says you’re a member of the tribe, capable, tough, and up for the challenge,” she said.
The spot will air until September during NRL and AFL games plus on Channel 7 and 7Mate during May.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Take a great brand property and don’t f%$# with it.
Well done Clems for NOT trying to do something cool and different.

Yes, it is good as it is consistent and builds on the great heritage established in many ways.
For mine it just lacked a good gratuitous product shot with the Hard Yakka brand in it.
But pick axes?
We get the point (pardon the pun) but for relevance they could have introduced the same blunt metaphor with some more modern mining equipment, surely!

Osama has been dead a couple of hours and Paul Reardon is back making ads. Coincidence? I think not.
Nice one guys
