Hardhat recruits JWT’s former executive planning director, Iain White
Digital agency Hardhat has appointed the former executive planning director of JWT, Iain White, as its planning director.
White was an executive planning director at JWT’s Melbourne, Tokyo and Bangkok offices for more than 20 years.
White joins Hardhat in the newly created role, saying he is excited by the agency’s growth.
“I’m thrilled to join Hardhat and it’s rare to meet such a nice bunch of smart people.
I’m doubly excited by the agency’s growth, not just in new accounts, but with the big movement happening with existing clients asking the agency to extend their skills into more traditional channels such as TV, radio, print and outdoor. It’s a good sign of strong relationships and that the work is working.”
White has also had his own consultancy Insight and Ideas offering project and freelance services since 2015.
Justin Kabbani, co-founder and managing director of Hardhat, said: “As Planning Director, Iain will play a critical role in helping us execute our strategy to become a leading creative agency built for the digital age. His extensive global experience is a big asset as we continue our expansion not just in Melbourne and Sydney, but also into Asia.”
Hardhat’s clients include Deakin University, Melbourne Airport, NAB, Devondale Murray Goulburn, Baiada and Visit Victoria.
Congratulations Hard Hat Team. Wishing you guys all success.

Quote from above:
“the big movement happening with existing clients asking the agency to extend their skills into more traditional channels such as TV, radio, print and outdoor.”
Is this the same Hardhat whose co-founder strategist Dan publicly rallies against most things that aren’t digital, and aren’t Facebook?

No, this is the sign of an agency with a successful track record within its core competencies branching out as its clients come to understand it can apply this excellence across a broader range of channels. Note that Dan has been an avid fan of facebook/digital, but has never suggested it is the only component within the marketing mix.
Congrats HH.
