Hatched Media wins Automotive Brands, appoints Sharni Ames as group business director

Melbourne-based independent agency, Hatched Media has won Automotive Brands Group’s media account from Starcom, and appointed Cummins&Partners’ former media director, Sharni Ames to its senior management team.

Automotive Brands Group includes brands such as Autobarn, Midas, Autopro & Sprint Autoparts.

Peter Toone, Starcom Melbourne’s managing director, wished Automotive Brands all the best for the future.

“We enjoyed several years working with the Automotive Brands Group, initially as part of Metcash, and then retaining the business once they had parted ways with Metcash,” Toone said.

Off the back of Hatched Media’s win, Ames joins the company as group business director.

She has more recently worked as media director at Cummins&Partners, and has also held roles at Vizeum, ZenithOptimedia, and Universal McCann.

Jack Byrne, managing director and founder of Hatched described Ames as a “ripper.”

“Not only is she a joy for both clients and staff to work with, but she brings a wealth of experience and a level of care which is rare to find,” Byrne said.

Ames added: “I’m super excited to have joined the Hatched family. A huge draw card being the philosophy around driving long term relationships with not only clients, but also with media partners, and importantly staff.

“Jack, Stephen and the team’s authentic and down to earth approach is refreshing in within the industry, and looks to be the winning formula!”

Her appointment follows Regan Hancock, who joined the agency in the role of digital manager from Vizeum, and former Initiative media buyer Emily Capsis.

The company now has 24 staff following the Sensis brands and Automotive Brands group wins.

Other clients include Golden Age and Satterly, Smile Solutions, TAC and AFL’s Adelaide Crows.
