Havas Australia helps marketers with their COVID-19 side hustles

Havas Australia has launched an initiative to help industry professionals impacted by COVID-19 turn their side hustles into a business.

Havas Hustle sees senior members of the Australian Havas Village, including ANZ group chairman Anthony Freedman, providing free advice and support to anyone in the Australian marketing industry.

Havas Hustle will help media workers with their side hustles

The initiative is offering services from across the group, including creative, media, strategy, design, UX, digital marketing, brand partnerships and tech consulting.

Freedman said COVID-19 has led him to reflect on how he built the agency Host – now part of Host Havas.

“Fittingly, I started my first agency, Host, 20 years ago today and a great many people lent me their counsel over the years as I started, bought, sold, acquired and merged businesses in the UK, Australia and Singapore. It all brought me to the fortunate position of leading some formidable talent across an incredible range of disciplines and I’d have given my right arm to access them when I started out two decades ago,” Freedman said.

“It’s been devastating to see the impact of COVID-19 on the industry and if our expertise can help budding entrepreneurs find their feet again, we’re more than happy to offer it up. I am personally also looking forward to participating and doing what I can to help.”

Those that want assistance for their side hustle can register on the Havas Hustle website and will be matched with the person who best meets their needs. One-on-one, half-hour sessions will take place over confidential video conferencing.

Registrations are now open and the service will be available until 31 July.
