Havas Creative Group names new APAC CEO

Havas has named former Starcom Mediavest Asia Pacific president Mike Amour as Havas Creative Group APAC chairman and CEO, replacing Juan Rocamora who will retire at the end of the year.

The move sees Amour handed the responsibility of driving the growth of the network’s village model and continue the transformation of the business in the Asia Pacific region.

Based our of Singapore, Amour will report directly to Havas global CEO Andrew Bennett who said the broad experience of the recruit would be a major asset to the network.

“Mike is a visionary leader with a track record of driving transformation, and I’m confident his leadership will further accelerate the Group’s performance in the Asia-Pacific region,” Bennett said.

“He is a true internationalist with unique experience across different communications disciplines and developing markets..

Prior to joining Starcom, was Asia Pacific CEO for Projects: Worldwide, the independent agency network with 13 agencies in 45 locations around the world, including George P Johnson and Spinifex in Australia and Southeast Asia.

He was also head of Grey Group Asia for four years.

Amour said he saw great potential for Havas Creative Group in the region.

“I am excited to be joining a company where clients can access a truly integrated service offering,” Amour said.

“The network’s Village model is a significant competitive advantage, and I look forward to leveraging it fully to make Havas an indispensable partner to brands in the region.”

 

Rocamora has worked in the APAC region for Havas for the past seven years and was with the company for a total of 20 years and Bennett praised him for his work.

“His progressive leadership has had a tremendous impact on Havas Creative Group’s growth and reputation in Asia Pacific,” Bennett said.
