Havas Media poaches Dentsu Aegis investment exec John Lynch
Havas Media has taken John Lynch from rivals Dentsu Aegis for the new role of national investment director, and named James Zipeure as its new chief operating officer.
Lynch, who has been heading up investment for out-of-home and print for Amplifi for the past two years, joins in the newly-created role tasked with evolving the three-year-old agency’s commercial operations.
Zipeure’s joined Havas when the agency launched in 2014 as chief commercial officer, having spent a 17-year career on the buying side of media agencies including a stint as national digital investment officer at Aegis.
Zipeure said: “Our position as a forward-thinking challenger network was a key factor in getting John to join Havas Media. As one of the most sought-after directors in market it’s fantastic to have him on board. John and I will be working closely in the coming months as we continue to find new ways of unlocking greater opportunities for existing and new clients.”
Mike Wilson, CEO of Havas Media Australia, added in the statement: “Our challenger mentality has allowed us to stay agile and these appointments are testament to that. James and John bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new roles and I look forward to seeing them drive our commercial and content offerings forward in the coming months.”
According to the release, Lynch “will be tasked with evolving the Havas Media commercial capabilities across core media and non-media client product portfolio, including technology services, content and programmatic.”
It adds: “Lynch will operate across all group media brands including Havas Media, Havas Sports and Entertainment and Arena Media.”
