Havas opens h/commerce in Australia
Havas Group has brought its advisory offering, h/commerce, to Australia.
Simon Porter, who was previously the MD of BD Network, is now the managing director at h/commerce.
The offering aims to help brands and retailers increase sales and delivers local retail and shopper insights.
Havas’ h/commerce will pool global talent from across pillars including retail consulting, creative, shopper, media and data.
In other appointments for h/commerce Host/Havas’ creative director Tom Hoskins will now become h/commerce’s ECD.
Founding clients for h/commerce include Nescafe, Supercoat, Uncle Tobys, Lurpak, Energizer and Liquor Marketing Group.
Porter and Hoskins said in a statement: “The likes of Amazon and Alibaba have spearheaded the rapid transformation of the global retail landscape and provoked brands and companies to re-think how they navigate it. We believe true competitive advantage comes from thinking like a brand but acting like a retailer – after all, retail is where brands go to face the truth from their customers.”
Anthony Freedman, Havas Group ANZ chairman, added: “With h/commerce, we aspire to deliver integrated strategies and unlock creative ideas that solve business problems and ultimately help our clients achieve commercial goals and sell more product.”
these two didn’t set the world alight in their previous time together so…let’s hope it’s second time lucky for them

What’s the difference between what Host/Havas should normally do for their clients and what h/commerce suggests they can do?
