Hazel Savage leaves Pandora for new role at Moment Media

Pandora Australia and New Zealand’s head of industry relations Hazel Savage has quit the internet radio company to take the role of global head of music at Moment Media, which owns The X Studios in Sydney amongst other properties.

The release:

10-year veteran of the digital music industry Hazel Savage has been appointed as the Global Head of Music for Moment Media, which owns The X Studio in Sydney as well as multiple new properties in London, Bali and Singapore.

Originally from the UK, Savage most recently headed up industry relations at Pandora Internet Radio in Australia and New Zealand but recently resigned and has made the switch to Moment Media.

Previous incarnations at Shazam in London, Universal Music and Pandora have given Savage a career in pure digital play and she brings that wealth of experiences and relationships to her new role.

Savage said: “I am so excited about my new role as the Global Head of Music, it has been really hard keeping this one under wraps! I love getting in on the ground-floor with new digital music start ups, I have done it twice already in my career and the third time is a charm!”

“I think my experiences as an artist and artist manager (Savage manages Sydney band The Morrisons) gives me a unique perspective on the music industry that a lot of corporates miss out on. When you live, breathe and operate in this world and then combine that by partnering with visionary people, you can build a phenomenal business.”

Savage met founder and Australian serial entrepreneur Ron Creevey and immediately the two hit it off as he disclosed his new assault in the digital world and Savage agreed the formula made sense and would further push the Australian Music and Technology world forward.

Creevey says, “I am excited to have Hazel join the Studio crew, she gets it and understands where the industry is heading, our focus is monetizing live events globally via The X Studio; already open in Sydney and set to open Bali, Singapore and London prior to Christmas and then we will make the technology available to all venues and artists globally.”

Savage will be based between the Sydney and London head offices and also work with Creevey on his new music label Helipad which is focused on the grass roots development of DJs and already has over 50 DJs confirmed for the launch, August 1 2015.
