Healthcare professionals front a NSW Government campaign addressing COVID-19

The NSW Government has launched a new COVID-19 awareness campaign, encouraging residents of the state not to travel over the upcoming holiday period.

The campaign features real medical staff from the front lines of the pandemic, imploring people to stay home and slow the spread.

The campaign launched on Sunday 5 April, with Bastion Banjo engaged by the NSW Government to handle the advertising and communications for it.

The campaign will continue to evolve as the COVID-19 situation changes.

Andrew Varasdi, managing partner of Bastion Banjo, said the agency was proud to be appointed to undertake such an important task.

“This is a moment in time that is fundamentally changing the way we live and the lives of so many people in every way. To have been appointed to help educate and drive behavioural change around how we live with and overcome the challenge of COVID-19 is something that we are extremely proud of and a testament to the capabilities of our people,” Varasdi said.

Video assets which have already launched, support a microsite that provides updated case numbers in the state, and information about the current restrictions and financial support available.

The campaign follows the Federal Government’s $30m COVID-19 education campaign that was executed by Queensland-based Carbon Creative.
