Helen Lecopoulos departs Woolworths media role
Media veteran Helen Lecopoulos has departed Woolworths less than six months after the retailer opted to remain with its media agency Carat.
A spokesman for Woolworths today confirmed that Lecopoulos, who was head of media at Woolworths, had departed in December after 14 months in the role.
Lecopoulos was previously head of media and sponsorships at McDonalds before moving over to Woolworths to run the $240m media pitch.
However, the process of the pitch became drawn out following the appointment of chief marketing officer Tony Phillips in March. It is thought that while Philips favoured retaining Carat Lecopoulos favoured a move to another media agency.
It is not known if Lecopoulos’s role will be replaced directly with the company refusing to comment on when or if it would replace the role.
I can’t say this is a surprise given Woolworths move into a more strategic mindset.

Damn @Jumbo … I don’t even know Helen though ease back on the personal attacks on a public forum. If your gripe is that bad give her a buzz and chat it through … you’d be surprised at how much better it is to solve an issue this way.

Wow Jumbo, what a stupid and mean comment . And you hide behind the name Jumbo and don’t reveal your real name . My real name is Mark and I reckon you are way out of line here ! Mumbrella, not sure the value in posting these kind of rubbish posts ! Reckon Jumbo would not even know Helen . Helen has had a stellar career across agency and client side for a long time , I am not her mate , but have dealt with over the years and she is a good person and great operator !

We are all in this together, it’s about time everyone in media stopped cutting at each others throats and started supporting each other.

You miss the point Jumbo ….. the point is why have a personal crack at someone behind the vail of not even a real name . Whatever the circumstance pertaining to her exit , I can bet you that Woolies WOULD agree that there is no value in some one being being put down by some anonymous dude , I can guarantee they would not find your comments appropriate .
