Heston-a-palooza night fails to win over viewers

Heston’s Mission Impossible was no match for The Biggest Loser on Thursday night, with the new series rating just 776,000 for Seven, to Ten’s 1.233m.

But both came out ahead of Nine in the timeslot with RBT rating 734,000 and Getaway delivering just 693,000, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

Meanwhile, schedulers’ sudden love affair with the proponent of molecular gastronomy Heston Blumenthal continued on SBS1 at 8.30pm where Heston’s Feast delivered 255,000, the network’s best audience of the night.

On Nine, Million Dollar Drop followed what has become something of a pattern, averaging just 741,000 but reaching a peak of 981,000. It also won its 8.30pm timeslot in Melbourne.

The performance of Million Dollar Drop in the Thursday slot is a marker improvement on Monday when it delivered 570,000.

Across the five city metro, Grey’s Anatomy on Seven came out on top with 757,000. The Good Wife on Ten averaged 694,000.
