Home and Away final wins over 1.1m for Seven

The season final of Home and Away topped the ratings for Channel Seven last night with 1.145m metro viewers winning in all programs and people 25-54 according to OzTam’s preliminary overnight ratings.

The extended show ran for an hour and 45 minutes and ended with a cliffhanger as a bomb planted in a laptop exploded in a hospital room.

Nine’s A Current Affair and RBT were second in the timeslot and were third and fourth in people 25-54, followed by ABC News and 7.30 on ABC1.

Meanwhile The Project averaged 471,000 for Ten at 6.30pm, and the feature film Mean Girls had 371,000 at 7.30pm.

The final episode of Chris Lilley’s six part series Ja’mie: Private School Girl, in which his teenage girl character stripped off in a performance at her high school, averaged 623,000 for ABC1, a slight fall from last week’s 644,000.

The program on at 9pm was second in its timeslot after Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on Seven, which rated 628,000 after Home and Away.

Nine’s Hostages had just 280,000 viewers at 8.30pm and a repeat of CSI which followed had 260,000 metro viewers.

The competition was close between Seven and Nine’s game shows as Million Dollar Minute gained 505,000 metro viewers rating just below Hot Seat on Nine which had 528,000.

Breakfast TV was dominated by Sunrise with 392,000 viewers across the five cities, while Today had 313,000 on Channel Nine. Ten’s Wake Up averaged 37,000 with 36,000 for the early portion. Studio Ten had 32,000 viewers while The Morning Show on Seven rated 194,000 and Nine’s Mornings 107,000.
